Decay Detection

Trees are fascinating organisms that have evolved to deal with various challenges, including decay. Despite being a common factor in their lives, trees have developed mechanisms to manage and contain decay. Understanding how trees deal with decay can help us appreciate their resilience and adaptability.

The PiCUS Sonic Tomograph is a powerful tool for analyzing the inner structure of wood. By measuring the speed of sonic waves, it can detect defects and variations in the wood's density. The resulting tomogram provides a clear visual representation of these variations, making it an invaluable resource for anyone working with wood decay.
